Philips i966 Aurora Launched With Fingerprint Censor
Finally, Philips too launches their new flagship smartphone i966 Aurora. It was launched at an event in China. It has been priced at CNY3699. It comes to approximately Rs.37000 in India. Philips i966 Aurora s currently on sale only in China. The makers have not yet decided when to launch it outside China as of now.
The handset i966 Aurora comes with high end features including a QHD display, similar to LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The main highlight of the device is that it is having a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone alike Samsung Galaxy S5. Philips i966 Aurora is said to be the first smartphone fromthe makers that runs the new YunOS 3.0 OS, which is based on Android (unspecified version).
Philips i966 Aurora is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8974AC) 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz. It has 3GB RAM, a 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, includes 32GB of inbuilt storage with no word on expandable storage support.
The handset has an excellent 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and LED flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 3000mAh battery.
