Now, a major confusion that attacks many of us is what to wear during Diwali. It is a major festival. So, most of us prefer to look traditional as well as with a modern outlook. Till last year, it was seen that for women mid-length and floor length anarkalis were trending. But, this year we see a difference. This time, people, no longer prefer to wear these heavy anarkalis. Instead, they prefer to wear something different.
Now, what do they prefer is the next question? It has been noticed that women now prefer to wear A-line and asymmetrical kurtas. It is seen that the attitude of the customers have changed, which has bright in this drastic change. Designer Samant Chauhan says, “Anarkalis are big no this season as no one wants to buy such cuts this season. Go for A-line and asymmetrical kurtas as they are back in trend.” Check out Jabong, Amazon, Shoppers Stop and Myntra stores for the latest collection on these.
According to designer Swapnil Shinde, one must be very careful while choosing the outfits. A person can very well look for the correct size and the ease of the outfit, the flare everything while purchasing. You can even skip your dupatta with an A line kurti. Wear a flared bottom instead to get that look.
He also added, “Tunics with high slits also look great when paired with flared palazzos and skirts, and a sharara would add more feel to the traditional look.” Accrding to him a person with a larger size should avoid high slits and lot of flare, and should go for straight fit trousers or salwars.
If one is not happy with any of the suggestions above, you have other options too. You can go for A-line Jaipuri skirts with short kurtis. Now, that is a great option and you are sure to look unique too. So, now you have a reason to skip churidars and anarkalis.
While coming to the colors, designers say orange, pink and blue for those who are in love with dark colors. But, if you want to look elegant, designers prefer you to try colors like ivory, overall metallic look in gunmetal, vintage champagne, gold and silver, metallic tones of dull copper and olive. When it comes to the material, the designers prefer chiffon and georgette for A-line kurtis. They also prefer silk and net.
