Already seen a lot of success in past couple of years, specially last year big thanks to its well endowed G2 handset and if all those leaks and rumors are anything to go by, the tech giant has more than a few surprises up its sleeve for the coming months as well. The South Korean major is reportedly all set to make a mark on the smart phone arena in the coming months with its newest offering, the G3, successor to the hugely popular G2. In fact, from all that is known and rumored about the G3, LG’s next flagship is reportedly ready to give the best in the business a run for their money. Expectations are so high from the South Korean’s latest offering that a report in ZDNet Korea has called the G3 ‘a Samsung Galaxy S5 killer’. Given that LG has really raced up the ladder of smart phone success last year, this statement might not be too far from the truth.

Processor and RAM
The LG G3 will supposedly be powered with an octa-core processor and in terms of storage, the device may have 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. We are skeptical about the phone supporting dual-SIM and expandable memory features.

Screen and Design
The next flagship phone from LG may sport a 5.5″ large (diagonally) LCD with capacitive touch screen. It is also said that the phone may have 2K (1400×2048 pixels) resolution that would make the text and images look exceptionally crisp and clear. In terms of design, the phone will supposedly inherit the uni-body looks as seen on its earlier flagship models.

Camera and Multimedia
The primary camera on the LG G3 will have a image resolution of 16 Mega Pixels and will support video recordings in full HD format. An LED light will accompany the primary camera that could be used for taking better images in low-light conditions. We also expect the phone to have a secondary camera with at least 8 MP image resolution on the front, that could be used for video calling and snapping slefies. In terms of multimedia capabilities of the device, it should be able to support playback of all the common formats including MP3, MP4, WAV, AAC, AVI, etc.

Software and Features
Being the next flagship device, the LG G3 will perhaps come with the latest Android KitKat 4.4 operating system out of the box. It should also have the common apps and features pre-loaded which includes Google search, Gmail, Maps, Hangouts, document reader, image and video editor, etc.

Battery and Connectivity
The device may have about 3000-3500 mAh battery considering the gigantic screen size on the device. Connectivity options of the device should include GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC & USB 2.0.

LG G3 Fingerprint Scanner

Considering that the LG G3 has no front-facing buttons, we expect the fingerprint scanner to be placed on the middle button on the back of the device, similar to the One Max.

I believe the rumor to be true, because LG has done a really good job lately competing with the other smartphone giants and we expect them to do whatever possible in order to increase their market share.

What We’d Love to See On The LG G3

  • 128GB of Internal Storage

It would be great to have a selection of 128GB storage smartphones. It’s true that their memory can be expanded through a microSD card, but internal storage is faster and more reliable, usually. Another advantage is that, if they would have enough internal storage, the microSD card could be used for backups.

The LG G3 will probably have a wonderful display, which can play Full HD movies without a problem and its memory can barely hold two.

  • Always-on Listening Mode

One of the things we love most about the Motorola Moto X is the always-on listening mode. It’s great that you can use the smartphone without touching it and we really hope that LG is thinking about something similar.

  • Kids Mode or Multi-User

There are times when someone else has to use your smartphone and privacy becomes a concern. A kids mode or multi-user feature would be great in such situations.

We would also love to see something similar to Samsung’s Knox, which provides an extra layer of security to more sensitive apps.

  • Iris Scanner

There have been some rumors talking about it, but we highly doubt it, because it’s not clear if the technology is so advanced and cheap. Until now, no smartphone features an Iris scanner, but it could be great to see it on the G3.

  • Dust And Water Proof Screen

With the non – stop addition to the smart phone industry from various manufacturers, this one also  is a much awaited launch by the techno freaks and the LG’s ardent followers. However, we will have to wait for a couple of days or probably even more for the launch form the Korean giant, till then let us just hope all the speculations and leaks ‘ are true!
