Nrityagram is better known as India’s first Gurukul for classical music and dance. It was set up in 1990 by Odissi dancer Potima Gauri. It is located near Hesarghatta in Bangalore rural district. The residential school offers training in Indian classical dance forms like Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali and Manipuri.
