Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 2 Prime Officially Launched

Finally, Xiaomi has launched their much awaited Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime phablets in an event hosted in Beijing, China today. They have launched the all new Redmi Note 2 in an amazing 3 new models.

All the three new models will be running on the new MIUI 7 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, will also be having a 5.5 inch HD display (1920x1080p), 13MP rear cam, 5MP front cam with LED flash and auto phase detection. It is also seen powered by MediaTek’s latest MT6795 Helio X10 SoC, octa-core Cortex A53 clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 3020 mAh battery.

Redmi Note 2 weighs 160 gms and is comparatively lighter than its predecessor Redmi 2 Prime. Redmi Note 2 is a dual sim handset that also supports 3G as well as 4G and 16GB internal storage which is non-expandable. Redmi Note 2 Prime has 32GB internal storage which is also non-expandable.

Although the makers have not disclosed how soon the handsets will be available outside China, they have announced the price for both. The first variant Redmi Note 2 supporting 4G is priced at 799 Yuan which will be almost Rs. 8100. The Redmi Note 2 supporting 3G as well as 4G is priced at 899 Yuan which is Rs. 9100. The third model which is the Redmi Note 2 Prime is available for 999 Yuan which will come upto Rs. 10000.
